Sexy Unleashed at A Masquerade Ball #MySexySaturday #MSS153

My Sexy Saturday bannerIn For this week’s #MySexySaturday, I highlight how in Lady Elinor’s Ecape, the lady’s inner sexy is unleashed at a masquerade ball when she encounters the gentleman she is falling in love with.

Snippet:

He ran a finger from her ear to her chin. “Will you remove your mask for me, Cendrillon? I long to know you better.”

Mais non, monsieur. It is forbidden.”

“Will you at least tell me your name?”

She smiled. He was her dear, inquisitive Stephen, but she had to find a way to avoid the question. She glanced around the garden and a line from Romeo and Juliet came to mind.

“My name is not important, monsieur. Was it not you who said, ‘What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.’”

He broke into laughter. “Hoisted by my own petard, I see. You are a clever minx.” He leaned closer to her. “Is a kiss forbidden also?”

The word oui was on her lips, when she thought, why not? Had she not wanted him to kiss her at Hampstead? This might be her only opportunity to find out what it would be like to be kissed by him. “A kiss would be allowed,” she said, shocked at her own daring.

That Sexy Moment in the Library #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSS138

My Sexy Saturday bannerThis week’s theme for #MySexySaturday is That Sexy Moment, and it’s in the Library in this excerpt from Worth The Risk by Lyn O’Farrell.

Worth The Risk coverThis contemporary romantic comedy features Mitch Delaney, an ex-race car driver and Amanda Lloyd, a children’s librarian. In this scene, they meet in the children’s room right after Amanda has let slip with a “damn” after bumping her head while picking puzzle pieces off the floor.

Amanda Lloyd stared into a pair of roguish blue eyes and groaned silently. “I don’t usually swear in the library,” she said defensively.

“I didn’t know librarians swore at all.”

“Don’t tell anyone, but we’re not as stuffy as most people think.”

“Your secret’s safe with me.” He raised an eyebrow and grinned at her, revealing a devastating dimple.

She made a quick involuntary appraisal of the man in front of her. He was on the tall side of six feet, with a muscular chest and forearms. His black hair gleamed in the light, and his eyes were a brilliant shade of blue. Even the tiny scar between his dark brows couldn’t detract from his rugged good looks. His short-sleeved blue knit shirt stretched taut across his powerful shoulders, and his stonewashed blue jeans fit perfectly.

She had seen attractive men before, had even been engaged to one, but this one was a potent blend of detached amusement and raw sensuality. What in the world was he doing here? He looked as out of place in the children’s room as a panther in a playground, and just as dangerous. It was as if one of the stuffed animals sitting around the room had suddenly come to life and was on the prowl.

Amanda was jolted back to the present as the armload of puzzle pieces slipped out of her grasp and thudded to the floor. How much more ridiculous could she look? She knelt down and started collecting the traitorous pieces.
