This week’s Book Hook is from the first chapter of my steamy Victorian novellette, How To Woo… A Reluctant Bride, written under my Lyndi Lamont pseudonym. Book Hooks! is sponsored by Marketing For Romance Writers, a fabulous group of romance authors.
A marriage contract, nothing more…until darkly handsome Evan Channing and demure Lydia Blatchford meet. Yet the rules are simple for an arrangement such as theirs. There should be no misunderstanding, no illusions of anything more.
Lydia Blatchford wants the kind of love and romance she reads in books. Fortunately, she didn’t specify which book. And her darkly handsome groom has just the right one: the Kama Sutra.
Snippet:
How was she going to make it through dinner seated next to him?
Lydia glanced across the room at Evan Arthur Channing, scion of a fabulously wealthy merchant family. Her fiancé, soon to be her husband.
They had met but once, when her brother brought Mr. Channing home to discuss the financial arrangements with her mother. One high-born bride with entrée into polite society in exchange for an unspecified amount of cash to shore up the family coffers. At least he was dressed respectably. In fact, the black evening suit fit him so perfectly, she was sure he’d been to see her brother’s tailor. And no doubt paid Harry’s bill as well since her brother was also resplendent in a new suit.
Available from Amazon, All Romance eBooks, Apple iBooks,
Barnes & Noble/Nook, Kobo and Smashwords.
Also included in Romance Super Bundle II: Second Chances, a boxed set of eleven romances by eleven different authors for one low price.

Great snippet . Love the line in the blurb – Fortunately, she didn’t specify which book – lol.
It wasn’t what she was expecting, that’s for sure!
An intriguing book the groom possesses – Kama Sutra! It sounds as if she’d had an interesting marriage. Not to mention that hew was “dirty” rich. Great premise. Thanks for sharing, Lynda!
Poor Lydia. At least his book selection implies it wont be all “eyes closed and thoughts of England.” LOL
LOL. No, that was her mother’s advice!
Interesting hook. I like the blurb.
Nice teaser. And that name: Evan Arthur Channing.
