Summer4 Fun Facts about the Trinity River books:

1. I wrote this because I was born and raised in Texas. My father’s family lived in a little town not very far from what is called Naked Bluff.

2. There is no town in Texas called Naked Bluff. It is just a product of my imagination.

3. Both my parents picked their fair share of crops though I have never had to.

4. My ancestors fought in the Civil War.

In Too Deep coverIn Too Deep is the second half of In Deep Water. These two stories start with two women just trying to cool off on a hot summer day in Texas. They have no idea how hot things are going to get for them.

~~~~~
We have something in common, Anita. I had ancestors who fought in the Civil War, too, only mine were on the Union side. Both were named John and both came from Pennsylvania, but one served in a West Virginia regiment. He was wounded at Gettysburg, and the other caught a bullet in the knee at the Wilderness. Both survived, married and had children.
Revenge, the Cowboy Way by P. A. Estelle
Please welcome my guest, P. A. Estelle, who will tell us about herself and her Western romance, Revenge, the Cowboy Way. Tell us a little about yourself.
Author P. A. EstelleI’m Penny Estelle. I was a school secretary for 21 years, retiring in 2009. We moved to our retirement home in Kingman, AZ. We live on 54 acres in a very rural area. Actually we live “off the grid”, on solar and wind only. A real adjustment for a city girl. I love it. Nothing like walking out your front door and hear coyotes howling and seeing a sky bursting with stars. It is breathtaking!
I write for all ages – from the very young, to the “Young at Heart” older folks! From time travel adventures to family drama and romances.
Revenge Cowboy Way coverBlurb
When Brian Thornton is taken by surprise at gunpoint, while in the bed of a beautiful, wealthy woman, he swears his revenge. But when he learns his humiliation was at the hands of a young woman and a boy, his vengeance knows no bounds.
Joanna Simmons finds herself snatched out of her home and taken to Thornton’s ship. Against her will, she travels to Texas, and then by wagon train to Bastrop, Brian’s home town. Joanna finds acceptance and genuine friendship with the people of the town, down to Brian’s sister, but the emotional war that wages between Brian and Joanna, keeps any kind of happiness at bay.
Revenge, the Cowboy Way, is the story of hate, love and revenge. The question is whose revenge is it?
Excerpt
It was nearly midnight when Brian left the ship to make the half-hour trip to the Simmons place. The house was dark when he approached the front door, reaching hesitantly for the knob. Softly, his breath held in his throat, he tested the lock. It turned under his touch, and with a silent prayer, he pushed the door open, stepping quietly inside.
He hadn’t taken two steps into the blackness of the room when the door slammed heavily behind him and a shielded bull’s-eye lantern was opened to fill the room with a butter-yellow light. He spun, his hand automatically going for his gun. The motion ceased as his eyes settled on the gaping muzzle of the gun pointed at his forehead. For an instant, he felt the paralysis of fear overtake him until his attention was triggered on the skinny boy who held the weapon.
The sound of a door latching behind him was loud in the silence. He hesitated, the desire to turn and face this new danger strong in him.
“Can I help you, sir?” Joanna’s voice asked sarcastically. He turned from the threatening gun to face her. “So we meet again. We do meet in the strangest places, do we not? Somehow, I had a feeling you would show up.” The young woman was leaning, barefoot, against the wall in an old worn, faded robe tied at the waist. Her blond hair was hanging straight down her back.
The boy pressed his gun into Brian’s back and cautiously took the gun out of his holster. Brian’s faced burned with fury when the girl chuckled and said, “It seems we have taken yet another one of your pistols, Mr…?”
“Thornton. Brian Thornton.” His voice was calm, belying the urge he felt burning inside to get his hands around her throat.
“This could get expensive for you, Mr. Thornton,” She crossed her arms and looked at Brian, cocking her head. “We do seem to have a small dilemma here, and I’m not quite sure what to do about it.”
He was amazed at her nonchalance. “I guess you do have a problem,” he said in his best Texas drawl. “I guess you’ll have to kill me so I won’t give you away.”
