Author Kryssie Fortune is here today to tell us about sweet treats werewolves lover, including Blueberry and Lemon Cheesecake.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ever wondered how to feed a werewolf? Sure, they love fresh meat, preferably raw, but they love cake. Ellie Padget, heroine of my latest book To Wed a Werewolf spent two years baking for the Lykae Army.
Who knew Werewolves had a sweet tooth?
Quote
When Joel took a wife, she’d never expect him to mark her as his mate. He still wanted her smoking hot behind closed doors. Probably not as hot as his little Ellie, but he couldn’t allow himself to think that way. Doomed, damn relationship, remember?
Whatever just happened between them, it was over and done. He didn’t even regret screwing her. Sex with Ellie was primal and savage, a need that burned through his psyche He’d fuck her again in an instant, but his best option was to put some distance between them, fast.
When he married, he’d need a strong woman at his side—one who would watch his back while he watched hers. Let’s face it; Ellie’s weapon of choice is a cheesecake.
100g brown sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp grated lemon peel
150g flour
65g rolled oats
135g Fairtrade brown sugar
75g chopped nuts
120g butter or margarine
Method:
Preheat your oven to 175°C and lightly grease the bottom of a 13” by 9” tin.
1 In a saucepan combine the blueberries, orange juice, 2 tablespoons of sugar and cornstarch; stir until dissolved.
2 Cook over a medium heat stirring until thick and bubbly, then set aside to cool.
3 Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, and the nuts in a large bowl.
4 Cut in the butter and mix in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
5 Set aside one cup of the mixture for the topping.
6 Use the remaining crumble mixture as the base for the recipe.
7 Press this firmly into the bottom of your baking tray and cook for ten minutes.
8 Use a blender to combine the cream cheese, eggs, brown sugar, lemon juice, and peel until well mixed.
9 Pour the mixture on top of the baked base. Top with the blueberry mixture.
10 Sprinkle the remaining cup of crumble mixture over the top, then bake in the oven for 20 -25 minutes, until the top has browned.
The scars on Ellie Padget’s cheek are a constant reminder of the times she tried to escape from sexual slavery. Two years ago, Joel—alpha in waiting of the Tundra-Tough pack—led the rescue party that freed her. She’s loved him ever since.
Their relationship finally explodes into steaming sex, but he offers to pay her off. She walks away with her head high and her heart shattered. When she learns of a plot to destroy Joel and his pack, her only option is return to his side and warn him.
Joel has to fight to retain the pack that should be his by right, and no one can leave until the pack has a new alpha. He’s horrified when Ellie turns up on the night he’s to meet the woman he’s agreed to marry but never met. She’s stuck there until he claims his birthright. Finally, he realizes Ellie’s his true mate. Now he has to choose between his arranged marriage, and the one woman he truly loves. Will he choose with his head or his heart?
Kryssie, thanks for sharing about your book and thanks to Katie Furlong for the recipe. My, that looks delicious!
I can’t say I’m surprised to learn that werewolves like sweets. I’ve never known a dog who didn’t, and they are canines, too. My mom and dad’s Chihuahua used to raid the strawberry bed in the backyard. What do you think? Leave a comment below.
